As technology continues to advance, the demand for skilled developers is on the rise. Web development has become an increasingly popular field, and many people are now looking to break into this industry. How do I break into tech?

Ezinne, at the DEVTHON Event by The Bulb.

Get to meet, Front-End Developer, Ezinne Chiwueze, who formerly pursued a career in ADMINISTRATION as she shares with us her story and experiences in the tech world.

HER STORY

“I work as a front-end developer, and while I mostly use Vue.js, I also write React.js. I love working on tiny projects to see what I can do with them and am always on the hunt for interesting tasks. I like to spend my free time napping, cooking, and browsing the internet when I’m not developing code.

Prior to becoming a developer, I worked in administration for five years. Although the job was steady, it didn’t provide me with the same level of satisfaction and financial reward that I enjoy in my current role as a developer. I’ve been writing code for two years now, and I can confidently say that I have found my passion.”

Ezinne addressed some issues and concerns you might have as a female tech wannabe or just anyone coming into tech whether male or female.

“It’s the same across for everybody, both male and female, because we’re all doing the same thing, basically.

We are writing codes. And so, if it’s hard for the male, it’s hard for the female. So yeah, there is no exceptions. “

When asked about her thoughts on more women joining the tech scene, her reply was

“I wouldn’t say there’s a shortage of women in the tech industry, but there’s still a significant gender gap. I think the problem lies in the perception that technology is a male-dominated field and that women may not be interested or capable of working in tech

While there is no shortage of women in the tech industry, there is still a perception that it is a male-dominated field.

However, she believes that this is changing. “Women are starting to realize that technology is fascinating and enjoyable and that it is a field that anyone can succeed in.”

She encourages more women to consider a career in tech and to not be deterred by any perceived barriers.

As a closing remark, she encourages fellow tech-enthusiasts;

So, feel free to join us. It’s a fantastic world out here.”
