Summer is here, and as a parent, you probably don’t know what to do with your kids. Summer break is the perfect time to keep your kids entertained and ensure that all the knowledge they have previously gained doesn’t disappear. It is also the best time to equip them with new skills.

I intend to keep it simple and share six creative and exciting skills most kids will enjoy during the summer break. Kids usually won’t realize that they are learning when actively engaged in something they consider “fun”! So, let’s get started!

· Web development

Your kids probably use the Internet almost daily, visiting different websites to get information, interact with friends, and play games. There are always web developers involved in creating every website they visit.

Most big websites are professionally designed, but anyone can build a website once they learn basic design skills. Your kids can benefit significantly from learning web development skills, which can help them develop new and creative ways of thinking that are valuable in many ways.

· Graphics Design

Artistic skills are inherent in every child. Children with artistic minds should be exposed to graphic design. This will enable the kids to explore and nurture their creativity. Keeping your child’s creative mind flowing should be of utmost importance.

It doesn’t matter if you are an expert or not. Many free applications, tutorials, or very reliable paid courses can help your kids learn Photoshop or other graphic design programs.

· Robotics

The world is becoming increasingly dependent on robotic technology. Robots can perform many personal, medical, commercial, and military functions.

As technology advances, more and more robots are designed and built for various purposes. Some robots can even defuse bombs, mine and explore shipwrecks, and do dangerous jobs for humans.

Kids can learn to build robots and program them to perform specific tasks. This will be fun and very engaging for kids.

· Programming/Coding For Kids

Coding is the process of informing computers on how to perform a specific task. Coding can also be referred to as software development or computer programming.

These instructions are communicated using a language that computers can understand, like JavaScript, Python, Scratch, C++, etc.

Code lays the groundwork for our world’s technology, from everyday items like refrigerators and water heaters to sophisticated programs that run our cars and buildings.

Learning to code should be an essential element of your kids’ education. It is a brilliant way for them to express their creativity and imagination.

· Creative arts

Painting, drawing, and sculpting are just the beginnings of art. Children actively engage their imaginations by participating in music, visual arts, movement and dance, drama, and storytelling.

In addition to cognitive, linguistic, emotional, social, and physical development, the creative arts give children a sense of self-expression and creativity.

· Sports

The benefits of participating in sports go beyond the physical. Kids can learn lifelong habits through sports, resulting in long-lasting health benefits.

The more they engage in sports, the more they’ll enjoy them. Children should be encouraged to try different sports to find the one that suits them best.

Conclusion

Your children should be actively engaged. Providing them with essential skills in childhood is the best time to do so since it will become part of their identity as they grow.
